Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical wiring accessories, lighting products, switchgear and fans by analysing customer requirements, manufacturing methods, materials and suppliers to achieve company goals within set timelines
  • Develop test prototypes, coordinate product verification/certification testing and analyse test results/customer feedback for product compliance and corrective actions
  • Initiate and follow up product improvement projects with respective suppliers and internal teams for continuous improvement
  • Follow ISO 9001 procedures and champion the management system
  • Facilitate technical guidance to other functional teams

 

Candidate Profile:

  • BSc Engineering or equivalent qualification in the mechanical or electrical streams. Project management qualifications will be an advantage.
  • 2-3 years experience with similar responsibilities, related CAD and data analysis software. LED lighting and Lean/Six Sigma expertise will be an advantage
  • Sound and up to date technical knowledge of related products
  • Passionate about driving innovation and environmental sustainability
  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • 5 years’ experience with similar responsibilities. Experience with government tenders will be an added advantage
  • Experience in technical sales of electrical products, lighting or cable management systems
  • Proven track record of implementing and monitoring successful sales & marketing     strategies for project & corporate sales
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Age above 35 years

  • This role will be reporting to the Finance Manager
  • Qualified/part qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA with minimum 8-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing field
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in project management, preparation of project feasibility reports, comprehensive project reports and negotiating with the relevant institutions
  • Should possess excellent analytical skills and thorough knowledge of management and financial accounting functions
  • In-depth knowledge of Budgeting, cost management, product costing & pricing
  • Working capital management including debtor, creditor and warehouse management
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations & other requirements
  • Exposure to ERP (SAP) package is a distinct advantage.
